Yes, it has been a very long time since my last update, and for that, I apologize. It’s the heat, pummeling my head and making me even more lazy than usual. I even wrote a poem about it: “only 9 am”

cloying heat.
fogged pores.
roadblocks in synapses.
i can scarce remember names: they always seem like
foreign vocabulary. breathing
and breathing to steady my heart.
focusing eyes to focus my mind.
in the now, all is primordial soup.
heat.chemicals.thought.

I didn’t say it was a good poem. In fact, it probably demonstrates just how poorly my brain functions under 104 degree heat (and this, inside.)

My dad bought me a wireless thermometer and I’ve been recording data. The data are not a hundred percent accurate, I expect. I would give an error margin of +/- 5 degrees F.

04.02.05 (4 feb 2005) outside high: 87.6 low: 56.1 inside high: 82.5 low: 74.8
08.03.05 o h: 104.3 l: 68.1 I h: 90.3 l: 85.6
so far, so good, right? And then…
11.04.05 o h: 116.0 l: 71.6 I h: 98.0 l: 90.8
10.05.05 o h: 109.2 l: 85.8 I h: 102.2 l: 96.2
25.05.05 o h: 109.0 l: 86.1 I h: 100.2 l: 95.9

Yes, and I have seen the outside thermometer read 120 degrees. Certainly, that’s a false high, but even with an error margin of 10 degrees, that’s HOT.
