19.09.06 - 11:32 six. Last time I was here in Kankossa, I met Moussa - the oldest Traore child and the only one I hadn't yet met. He was dropping off his two children: Maryam (age 8-10) and Abdurahman (named for Yahya's brother and son, around age 3). They came to Kankossa to live for a year and become familiar with the Soninke language, their family, and the brousse. They had been in Zouerat, a fairly well-developed city, previously. They even spoke some French, which is not terribly common for children. Still, they seem to be acclimating well to their major life change. Is that a quality of all children, or just Mauritanian ones?
